Explore Hudson, New York

This home is in New York’s gorgeous Hudson Valley! This mountainous region is known for its rich wildlife, hiking trails, and ski resorts that are only a few hours from New York City and is beautiful year-round. The quaint town of Hudson is a mere 5 minutes away, while Windham, Hunter and Catamount mountains are all within 30 minutes. The nearest airports are Newburgh (SWF) or Albany. Flying into NYC airports (EWR, JFK, LGA) and making the ~2 hour drive up or taking Amtrak to Hudson station may provide more options. From wineries to endless outdoor recreation opportunities, the Catskills are a natural paradise for adventure and relaxation ★ Greenport Conservation Loop Hike (8-minute drive) - A 2.6 mile loop that’s considered an easy, scenic hike and is very popular for bird-watchers! ★ High Falls Conservation Area (20-minute drive) - One mile of trails that wind through hemlock ravines, alongside the Agawamuck Creek and to an overlook of Columbia County’s highest waterfall. ★Howe Cavern (60-minute drive) - A 6 million year old cave that is 156 feet below the surface with 1.5 miles of underground passageways. It is one of the only mineral caves in the world! Tip: Bring a jacket or sweatshirt, it gets very cool down there. ★ Hudson River Skywalk (4-minute drive) – A 6-mile out-and-back scenic walkway that connects two national historic landmarks, the Thomas Cole Site and Frederic Church’s Olana, via the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, and offers sweeping views of the Hudson River Valley and the Catskill Mountains ★ Olana State Historic Site (7-minute drive) – A historic house museum and landscape. During the mid-19th Century, Olana was home to renowned painter Frederic Church, his wife Isabel, and their four children. The home is an eclectic mix of Victorian design with Middle Eastern accents, collected through Church’s many travels. Our Concierge has many more recommendations and we have full home guides we can share once you book!
